Lumina Dental
Lumina Dental is a concept dental clinic website, designed from scratch. It lets patients check real availability and book an appointment online, cutting out the phone call that most clinic sites still require.

Problems
Most dental clinic websites still treat the phone as the only way to book an appointment. That creates a few problems at once:
Booking friction: A patient has to call during business hours, wait on hold, and go back and forth on times. A task that should take two minutes turns into a phone call.
No safe way to self-serve: Some treatments genuinely need a dentist’s judgment before a patient commits to anything, like a root canal or bone grafting. Most sites don’t separate “safe to book yourself” from “needs a dentist to decide first,” so patients either can’t book at all, or book the wrong thing.
Emergencies get buried: A patient in real pain doesn’t want to fill out a form. They want to know, right away, whether to call or just walk in.
Prices are hidden: Most clinic sites don’t show costs at all. Patients walk in not knowing if a filling costs 3.000 Ft or 30.000 Ft, and find out mid-conversation with the receptionist. That’s a bad moment to learn your budget doesn’t match the treatment.
Design Goals
The primary objective of this project was to solve the problems above, keep the booking experience simple, and make patients feel informed at every step. Specific goals included:
- Let patients book common treatments online, with no phone call needed.
- Separate treatments patients can book themselves from those that require a dentist’s assessment first.
- Give emergencies their own fast path, separate from routine booking.
- Show real prices upfront, so no one walks into the clinic clueless about cost.
- Build trust early, with named dentists and their specialties, not a generic “our team.”
Designs
A look at the key pages.
Book without calling
The hero leads straight to “Book an Appointment.” Every section below it, services, specialists, testimonials, builds the case for why someone should trust this clinic before they ever pick up the phone.
Book it yourself, or let the dentist decide
Services are split into two groups. Common treatments, like checkups and cleaning, can be booked directly. Treatments like root canals are marked “Recommended After Exam,” so patients aren’t guessing at their own diagnosis.
Clinical Lense
Knowing which treatments patients can safely book and which need a dentist’s examination first requires clinical judgment. That is what makes this distinction trustworthy, not just a random choice.
See the price before you book
Every common treatment has a listed price, and every dentist-recommended treatment has a starting price. Patients can check cost before they book, not after they’re already in the chair.
Book online in four steps
The entire booking happens online, no call needed at any point. Pick a treatment, pick a date and time, add contact details, then get a confirmation with a reference number and an “add to calendar” button. Nothing left for the patient to chase down afterward.
Outcome
Thanks for reading ⭐
I designed and mapped the full site, from homepage to blog to a working 4-step booking flow, and held one calm, consistent visual system across every page. I made every treatment-related call, what’s bookable, what needs an exam first, based on real clinical judgment. That’s the one part of this project I can’t fake, because I trained as a dentist before I trained as a designer.
